The Estheti Centre in Colombo launches the latest in slimming and facial firming technology - the Tripollar RF treatment

Colombo is fast becoming a society consumed with image. More and more women are taking care of themselves and go that extra mile to make themselves look younger and more beautiful. To cater to this increasing demand, the Estheti Centre in Colombo recently launched the Tripollar RF treatment for the first time in Sri Lanka. The Tripollar RF treatment is a machine that achieves facial firming and slimming with the use of radio frequencies. The Estheti Centre's Director and General Manager Soraya De Zoysa says "Since of late there has been a huge demand for anti-ageing and slimming products and treatments. Women have varying issues which they want to correct. It could be the love handles or the tummy area for some people, or their arms or they have a small deposit of fat behind their necks or a double chin. This treatment will allow you to reduce inches from exactly where you desire giving you the ability to " spot reduce" which is not possible with diet or exercise. When it comes to facial firming the Tripollar RF Treatment Machine uses radio waves which stimulates the skin's collagen targeting the root of the problem as opposed to a cream which would only give a temporary benefit. With age, collagen and elastic fibres are compromised and the rebuilding of new collagen is reduced heavily with the aging process. The machine gives the collagen a kick start, by heating it up and stimulating the collagen fibres keeping skin firm, supple and youthful. Glycerine is applied to the skin before the treatment which neutralises any electri- cal current on the surface of the skin. This prevents heat generation on the surface of the skin which does away any possibilities of burns and skin discolouration.

Ms Zoysa says "there are absolutely no after effects because unlike laser treatments, which are also used for facial firming, the setback they have is that they can only produce a positive result if a client is fair in complexion. With the RF treatment, the machine is colour blind, therefore anyone can benefit from the treatment. Both the facial firming and slimming treatments produce an immediate result,

However Ms. Zoysa noted this is not a permanent effect. "There is an immediate tightening of the skin which could last up to about four to five hours. In order to lock that result in, one has to undergo a course of six treatments which will be conducted about two weeks apart for slimming and monthly for firming"
