-

The G.C.E.(A/L) Examination,2011 flagged Bandarawela Madya Maha Vidyalaya’s name and fame. B.M.M.V. is proud of the fact that the students secured the District 1strank in all three BioScience, Maths and Commerce steams.

In Bio-science and Maths steams they secured the first three district ranks. Danushkadanruwansenarathna became 1st in the district and 16th in the Island with 3 A’s in the maths stream while Randikaprabuddaelayes and Minudikamalshangammanpila placed second and third. Seven students obtained 3 A’s.

Supunmadushankawijesinghe became 1st in Bio science stream and four students managed to get 3 A’s in the same. Out of first twelve science district rank, nine ranks were captured by the B.M.M.V. students.this is truly a remarkable academic feat.

The science section of the school has worked hard to meet this success. They organize sci- ence practical workshop for the whole Badulla District school students and the students of B.M.M.V demonstrate each practical to the students in groups. This system was first brought in 2008 and this enabled a student of this school to become 1st in the Island in the same year. The great achievement paved the path to continue the workshop system to gain success.

Jayanisandaleka is the other student brought fame to the college by obtaining the district 1st rank in Commerce stream and Sammanianuththara emerged 4th in the District in Art stream. More than 230 students got entrants to the leading Universities in the Island.

The principal and the staff celebrated this great victory on the 9th of January, 2012 by distributing more than 5000 pieces of “Kawum and Kiribath” to all the students, academic staff, nonacademic staff and the parents of the achievers.
