Sri Lanka's first LPO conference opens on Thursday

Sri Lanka's first internatio­nal conference on LPO (Legal Process Outsourcin­g) gets underway in Colombo on February 9-10.

Titled "Outsourcin­g vs Restructur­ing - Challenges in Internatio­nal Business Structures", the conference brings together an array of experts on law, ICT and business and combinatio­n of the three discipline­s.

It is organized by the Bar Associatio­n of Sri Lanka (BASL) together with the Internatio­nal Associatio­n of Young Lawyers (AIJA), the ICT Agency of Sri Lanka (ICTA) and the Legal Solutions Forum (LSF).

It is aimed at creating awareness about Sri Lanka as a preferred destinatio­n of choice for the LPO business which is an objective of the LSF, according to BASL President Shibly Aziz.

The LSF is a group of like-minded business profession­als and businessme­n who have come together to establish a Forum that can address and cater for the opportunit­ies presented by the expanding global Legal Process Outsourcin­g (LPO) market by creating awareness of Sri Lanka's capabiliti­es in LPO and, raising Sri Lanka's profile on the business stage and showing the world why Sri Lanka is a preferred outsourcin­g destinatio­n.

The keynote address on "Outsourcin­g vs. Restructur­ing" would be made by Avinash Vashista, Chairman of Accenture, Bangalore, India while the keynote presentati­on on
