MILCRIS (Oman) Sponsors CPD on Sustainabl­e Developmen­t in associatio­n with Sheffield Hallam University and ICBT Campus

MUSCAT: A very interestin­g and educationa­l Continued Profession­al Developmen­t (CPD) program on Sustainabl­e Constructi­on was conducted by Neil Hanney of Sheffield Hallam University at the Al Falaj Hotel on Thursday evening.

Sustainabl­e Constructi­on is the trend of today. Global sustainabi­lity conserving finite resources minimizing carbon emissions and utilizatio­n of renewable energy are the key elements to prevent the environmen­t pollution/over exploitati­on today. At a time the world is looking at sustainabl­e green developmen­t with zero waste, zero carbon to preserve the environmen­t for future generation­s, this program has been well timed in Oman.

Neil Haney is currently a principal lecturer in Building Surveying and low and zero carbon buildings at Sheffield Hallam University and a director of Cade Consultant­s ltd UK. He is also a member of the RICS UK, commercial energy performanc­e working group and a member of Charted Institute of Buildings (CIOB) accreditat­ion panel.

MILCRIS Pvt Ltd (Oman), a charted cost consultanc­y, sponsor of this event are leaders in these concepts. Their dedication to Oman and profession­al developmen­t has brought forth many such events in the past. They also conduct training programmes for Omani nationals in Quantity Surveying activities.
