Atamie International School gears to give their students the best of education
Dr. Azard Uduman, Chairman Atamie International School said that English Knowledge is very essential for our students to enter the international educational arena at a press conference held at the Kotahena Branch of Atamie International School.
This was held to brief media on the importance of International Education, Developing our own culture and keeping up to the global standard, Ataime Higher Education Centre and the International opportunities through the school.
Dr. Uduman said that Atamie International School started in the year of 2003 with just 12 students and today it has grown with a student population of around 2000 and the school has expanded to four schools at Wattala, Ragama, Kotahena and Minuwangoda. The Atamie Higher Education Centre provides the cources on computer education, Montessori Diploma, Teacher Training, Educational Management, English and French Languages and General Psychology. Our new future step will be a fully fledged campus in Wattala,” he said.
Every year in Sri Lanka about 2,50,000 students sit for the A/L examination and about half of that get through. Out of that only around 17,000 students can enter the Universities. Authorities should take steps to launch a meaningful programme for the benefit of the balance.
International Schools like Atamie conduct their education in English Language. Without the knowledge of English no one can go head. Specially to the International Educational arena.
Every country has requirements such as Doctors, Engineers, Lawyers, Accountants, Technicians and Architects. Every country should prepare their educational syllabuses according to their requirements. Also we should change the syllabuses at least once in two years like Britain. According to our requirements then only our students can go ahead in various fields,” Dr. Uduman further said.
Dr. Lional Kularatna Psychological Consultant, Stanly Perera Chief Examination Officer, Jagath Chandra Kumara Executive Director and Mrs. Naramadas Selvam Vice Principal Kotahena Branch were also present at this occasion.
