Schools Results indicate Wattala R. C. Tamil Vidyalaya’s success in education

-

Wattala R. C. Tamil ( Wattala R. C. T. V.) Vidyalaya is a fast improving primary school which has proved its quality of education through successful results. The students are inculcated with the Tamil way of life - high discipline and excellent character

Wattala R.C.T.V. has a span of 50 years, and was established as the only Tamil school in the area, where plenty of Tamil people live. Due to lack of facilities, it faced so many set- backs during the last fifty years. The school has functioned in a single building which was situated in small land. To manage the classes with the available space, evening classes were conducted.

At present they have around 800 students and 35 teachers. Now the school is functioning in a 3 storied building which was opened recently. The present principal, Mr. Godwin is devoting himself to bring the school to a successive point. Even though the school is situated in a commercial area like Wattala, most of the students of this school come from low income families who could not efford to enter to the leading schools. The teachers of the school strive themselves to edify these students and lead them to the standard of the forerunning schools

Even though they have limited facilities, the students have shown their skill in their public examinations. They have maintained a good academic record in their grade 5 scholarship examination. In 2011, twelve students got through the examination while others managed with more than 100 marks range.

The religious activities take the major part in their co-curricular activities. They celebrate all the Tamil, Muslim and Christian festivals in high standard. They encourage all the students to participate in religious activities and examinations.

The present principal Mr. Godwin stated regarding the growth of the school ‘’Today we are happy that the dream of becoming a successful school has become true and we will not relax at this point. Our aim is to achieve higher standard in education and uplift the school to Maha Vidyalaya status. Parents and the members of the School Development Society give their maximum support to achieve our dreams. Nonetheless the parents have a low income; they contribute a part of their income for the development of this school. And also they contribute their efforts to the growth of this school. The Vice principal and teachers work hard and they should be congratulated for their remarkable service. On behalf of our school I wish to express my sincere thanks for those who work for the development of this school. This school is your property. Stand strongly behind this point of view.”

As a small village school, the principal, teachers, students and parents are holding their hands to stand on their own two feet. We all should help and bless them to reach their targets.
