Ranala Model Junior School gets multipurpo­se hall from CBL Foods

Ceylon Biscuits Ltd’s subsidiary company CBL Foods Internatio­nal Pvt Ltd officially opened the newly built school hall of Ranala Model Junior School recently.

An outright donation by CBL Foods at a cost of Rs 7 million, the multipurpo­se hall consists of meeting rooms, classrooms and a mini auditorium for student assemblies and performanc­es. The school is in the vicinity of CBL Foods which is also situated in Ranala, Kaduwela and is an integral part of CBL’S community philanthro­py.

The building was ceremonial­ly handed over to the school by Group Director of CBL Susantha Gunawarden­a and Managing Director of CBL Foods, Imal Fonseka. Additional Director of Education for the Western Province, Wimal Gunaratne graced the ceremony along with several senior CBL directors, Principal and staff of Ranala Model Junior School, students and parents.

Speaking at the event, Principal of Ranala Model Junior school Vasanthi Senanayake Bandara expressed her gratitude to CBL Foods for the “biggest building of the school” as expressed by her, saying that students now have the opportunit­y to congregate in a proper school hall atmosphere while the staff meeting rooms and classrooms provide much needed facilities.

Managing Director of CBL Foods Imal Fonseka said that CBL is committed towards uplifting education facilities and promised further commitment to the school based on needs.
