Under 'Flash Remit', if the beneficiar­y has a Sampath Bank account, the wired money can be withdrawn real time within few seconds after the money has been credited to his account by the sender's agent.

Stressing that this facility is only available with Sampath Bank under its affiliatio­n with UAE Exchange, DGM Ranwala said that the local beneficiar­y can withdraw the money remitted through UAE Exchange from 206 Sampath bank branches and more than 1600 ATMS linked islandwide. Sampath Bank customers can access their accounts through Bank of Ceylon (BOC), Hatton National Bank (HNB), National Developmen­t Bank (NDB), HDFC, DFCC Vardhana, National Savings Bank (NSB), Union Bank, & Pan Asia Bank ATMS as part of Sampath Bank's ATM link in addition to the 255 ATMS of Sampath Bank .

Sri Lanka's most popular deposit draw scheme "HNB Pathum Vimana 2012" was launched recently for the 20th year, offering prizes worth millions of rupees and many more.

In an interview, R.M.P. Dayawansa, Assistant General Manager - Personal Financial Services of Hatton National Bank, said HNB Pathum Vimana is the most attractive rewarding scheme in the country that has been continuing from 1993.

HNB Pathum Vimana deposit draw scheme has encouraged customers to save regularly and get rewarded. It offers all existing and new Pathum Vimana accounthol­ders who maintain the minimum balance requiremen­t, an opportunit­y to win fabulous prizes worth millions of rupees in addition to receiving attractive interest rates.

"Year on year we review the prizes and this year we will offer a luxury Mercedes Benz, a house worth over Rs 10 million and a Hyundai Tucson SUV as the top three awards. The draw was designed for customer satisfacti­on and has changed many people's lives during the past 20 years. Thus, there are many people who are more attached to this brand across the country" he said.

Regular Savings, Senior Citizen's Savings Accounts, Minor Savings Accounts like Kirikatiyo Accounts, Singithi Lama Accounts, Teen Accounts and also Personal Current Accounts are eligible for the Pathum Vimana draw scheme. With a minimum balance of Rs.10,000- in the savings, minor savings and current accounts, our customers become entitled for various draws which are held during the year namely Year End Grand Draw, Year End Car Draw, Dividiriya Draw, Harvest Draw, Year End Branch Based Draw and Weekly TV Game Show. To be eligible for Year End Premium Draw a balance of Rs.100,000- in a savings account or Rs.50,000in a current account should be maintained. The depositors who maintain higher balances will have multiple chances of winning as well as additional gifts.

There are more than 4000prizes on offer to encourage savers during this year and we have also introduced a new draw under this scheme, namely the Dividiriya Draw targeting Small and Medium entreprene­urs while special gifts are on offer for them. The Harvest Draw targets the farmer community and offering special gifts for them.
