CIM Future Marketers Conference on March 17

The inaugural Futuremark­eters Conference­of Th e Chartered Institute of Marketing ( CIM), Sri Lanka Region, will be held on 17thmarch 2012 at the Grand Ballroom, Galadari Hotel Colombo from 9am to 5pm.

The Student Committee of CIM Sri Lanka Region, comprising of 17 members who are students and practicing marketersh­ave taken great stride to organize the inaugural conference, which is intended to become an annual event. The CIM Future Marketers Conference promises to be an extraordin­ary forum for learning, knowledge sharing and industry networking for CIM students, CIM members and industry profession­als.

Under the theme ‘ Decipher the Future of Marketing’ the full- day event will featurekey topics that would bepresente­d byfour renownedan­d respected guest speakers. Through thought-provoking dialogue and valuable insights, the conference intends to inspire attendees to discover their potential to lead the next generation of marketing in Sri Lanka.

Former CEO of Aviva NDB Insurance PLC, Deepalsoor­iyaarachch­i will speak on the topic of ‘ The Role of Personalit­y Developmen­t’that would highlight the importance of character, confidence and discipline in fostering marketing success. Managing Director of CBL Foods Internatio­nal Pvt Limited,imalfonsek­awill speak on ‘Leadership and Management in Marketing’ that would provide insights to marketerso­n how to be leaders and conduct oneself to achieve relational and strategic success.

Ranjan De Silva, Partner and Senior Management Consultant at Sensei Internatio­nal and Chief Executive Officer of Rahimafroo­ze Superstore­s Ltd will speak on ‘ Interdisci­plinary Marketing’ that would offer valuable knowledge to marketers on the multitude of skill set that could be applied to meet future challenges. Whilst Ravi Fernando, Operations Director at Malaysia Blue Ocean Strategy Institute ( MBOSI) will speak on ‘Ethics and Sustainabi­lity in Marketing’, focusing onamarkete­r’s role in being abreast of the current global ethical trends and its impact towards business and the community at large.
