Indoor handball on March 24/25

Sixteen boys’ and twelve girls’ teams will battle for glory as the Sri Lankasports.com Handball Challenge 2012 Under-15 Schools’ competition unfurls at the DS Senanayake College Indoor Stadium on March 24 and 25.

The boys’ teams will compete in four groups of four teams while the 12 girls’ teams will compete in four groups of three. These schools were selected on the performance at the National Schools Handball competition which was held last November. This event goes down in history as Sri Lanka’s first ever under-15 Schools Indoor Handball tournament to be held.

The tournament will be held for Cup, Plate and Bowl championships and Sri Lankasports.com will give away certificates of participation for all players with the official certification from Sri Lanka Schools Handball Association (SLSHA). The tournament is organised by Sri Lanka’s first sports website - www.srilankasports.com with the assistance of the SLSHA.

Group A: Prince of Wales A, Ananada, Subarathi Mahamathya MV Homagama A, DS Senanayake B.

Group B: Royal Panadura, Boralesgamuwa MV, St. Anthony’s Wasalakotte A, Prince of Wales B.

Group C: Homagama Central, D S Senanayake A, Subarathi Mahamathya MV Homagama B, Isipathana B.

Group D: Isipathana A, Royal Colombo, Science Mt Lavinia, St. Anthony’s Wasalakotte B

Girls teams

Group A: Maddewela MV, St. Paul’s Milagiriya A, Homagama Central.

Group B: Devi Balika A, Sunethra Devi Papiliyana, Anula Vidyalaya B.

Group C: Buddhist Ladies College, Anula Vidyalaya A, Devi Balika B.

Group D: Good Shepard Convent, Boralesgamuwa MV, St Paul’s Milagiriya B
