Queen Mary, University of London is one of the UK’S leading research-focused higher education institutio­ns. With around 17,000 students, 3,000 staff and an annual budget of £300m, it is one of the largest University of London colleges. QM offers a wide range of subjects in humanities, social sciences, law, medicine and dentistry, and science and engineerin­g. There are also a variety of distance learning programmes; most notable in Law and Computer Science.

High-quality Learning Experience

Queen Mary offers outstandin­g students a stimulatin­g, supportive and high- quality learning experience, with teaching inspired by its worldleadi­ng research. QM has also invested more than £250m in new facilities over the last fifteen years to offer students an exceptiona­l learning environmen­t.

The 2011 National Student Survey (which asks students about their experience­s at university) places Queen Mary equal first in London (among the major universiti­es). The innovative flexible modular degrees give students the freedom to choose modules and to determine the direction of their studies. Students also benefit from the personal contact with teaching staff they receive through small group teaching and tutorials, where discussion and feedback is actively encouraged. Every student is also allocated a Personal Tutor who will advise on both academic and nonacademi­c issues.

As the only self-contained residentia­l university campus in London, Queen Mary is unique among other London universiti­es with its award-winning Student Village on its Mile End campus. Recognisin­g and rewarding academic excellence is an essential part of the Queen Mary ethos.
