Mino for Mosquito menace Do you know that?

-

Why do mosquitoes suck blood from the human body? It is the female mosquito that sucks the blood to enable them to fertilize and mature their eggs. Male mosquitoes never suck blood. The most interesting part is they never obtain any nutrition for them selves out of this sucked blood. Why do mosquitoes get attracted to human beings? The main factors that attract the female mosquitoes to suck blood from us are carbon dioxide that we exhale and our body temperature. Why does the mosquito menace become so serious? Insects could adjust themselves to live under any extreme and difficult condition. They have the ability to resist and develop immunity against the use of pesticide and other means that are being used to kill and control them. This applies to mosquitoes as well, as they also come under insect category.

Example-about a decade ago there were only 2 types of dengue that were caused by mosquitoes that came under the category of EEDIS. It is now observed that this figure has increased to 4 types of viruses. Mosquitoes not only cause dengue but also deceases such as Malaria, chikun gunya, filarial, Japanese encephalitis, i.e. Brain fever Though dengue mosquitoes usually attack around 7-10 in the morning and 3-5 in the evening, which is widely accepted theory but people can be attacked even during any time of the day by any other type of mosquito. Breeding of mosquitoes during rainy season shows a marked increase. But even during the dry days, mosquitoes can breed very effectively, which could bring us harmful effects. Those who get attacked by the mosquitoes and who subsequently face foetal conditions, happens irrespective of age and class. Up to date there is no definite cure or preventive measures identified against Dengue. Even though when a mosquito bites every time, it does not cause any disease but it can cause discomfort, irritation and allergy. Controlling the breeding of mosquitoes cannot be effectively carried out in Sri Lanka because the conditions such as temperature and wet surroundings are ideal for breeding mosquitoes.

In order to minimize the damages caused due to this, it is one's DUTY and RESPONSIBILITY to the best of their ability to clean the environment (school, home, office, work place, religious institution etc.) REGULARLY and EFFECTIVELY. Also it is advisable to use an insect repellent that is SAFE, EFFECTIVE AND PRACTICAL WAY. DO THE PREVENTIVE MEASURES THAT ARE BEING CURRENTLY USED BY YOU CONTAIN THE ABOVE MENTION 3 OBJECTIVES?
