Hey, you cheap Sri Lankans…!!!

-

"…………………. our dream came true, we were defeated by the team who seemed to be the underdog of the series, comfortably with five wickets in hand………. And we are so happy..!!........ So let's swim against the waves, and bring back the Great Attitudes and the Great nation we had a long time ago…."

I was overwhelmed by the happiness after seeing the Sri Lankan supporters in the Melbourne cricket stadium at the last league match of the CB series against the Australia, which was a Do or Die match for both the Sri Lanka and India, though India was not playing the match, seeking for the Australia's victory to enter the tri finals. But after a nail biting fight, we lions made it to finals, with the mindboggling support in the stadium. And I said to myself that "Wow, that is the spirit of Sri Lankans...!" but it wasn't about the players but all about the fervent Sri Lankan supporters.

But in the Asia Cup last league match, It was surprised to see almost all the Sri Lankans were supporting Bangladesh instead of their So-called proud nation, and I was totally shocked to see in Facebook all the status were updated in favour of Bangladesh instead of our motherland who has been crying for the perfect victory after world cup 1996, and finally our dream came true, we were defeated by the team who seemed to be the underdog of the series, comfortably with five wickets in hand. But still we all Sri Lankans were so enthralled by the loss of our Proud Nation…!!! Why?? Because we planted a suicide bomb against the India, we didn't just left the series, but along with the Indians. And we are so happy..!!

Wait; Just think a moment, HOW CHEAP ARE WE????

And none of these cheap Sri Lanakan-bangaldesh supporters were seeing the continuous 4th defeat of the team .In fact, we were white washed by three different countries in the same series…it is preposterous to see and pathetic…!!!and this is not the true Sri Lankan spirit, this is something else which is engulfed us and which has to be hived-off as soon as possible. When the Great King Dutugemunu had all the possibilities of demolishing the troops of King Elara along with the King Elara, still he made a decision to follow a Solo fight with the opponent king Elara. That is how authentic Sri Lankan acts. (Oh lord, where those genes are hid in our blood!) And Sangakkara went off the ground, when the Umpire was not able to make his decision; despite we were at verge of losing of the match. And that is the spirit of real Sri Lankan blood, being honest despite the negative consequences. and we saw how our soldiers treated the Tamil civilians during the war against the ruthless LTTE, though now western countries are making tribulations related to our humanitarian mission, since they want to cover up the shame which haunts them, for taking much long time to take over Osama Bin Ladan than we did against Prabhakaran while possessing very less army power than so-called Policeman of the world.

More over internationally we are recognized as morally high, amicable and well-cultured nation, but is it going to remain further more? That is the question that we have to very well concern about. And it is said that those days a naked lady with full of jewels could have walked from point of Dewundara to point of Pedro with no harm on her. But now, think; is it possible even for a soldier? Besides, we know according to the history, the Sri Lankan king Ravana had kidnapped the elegant princes Seetha and kept her for years to show his power, but she was not even touched during that long period. That is the way our forefathers acted. But now it is turned upside down, even this abysmal attitudes have become a threat to our main income of the country, tourism, and affecting on our growing economy, since it has been registered a number of harassment and attempt of harassments to the foreign ladies by locals. And It has a tendency of reducing the number of tourist arrive to the country. And why is this all? And more precisely, where are we heading towards??...think….

Please My dear fellow Sri Lankans it is time to go in front of a mirror and to ask yourself," Is that really I am, whom I supposed to be??" If your conscience gives a negative answer, time to cut your losses brother.

And if we don't remove this by nail, trust me, we will not be able to remove it even by using axe..!!! Now it may not seem like a disturbed issue to the country, but it will be soon, there for, Of course we should confine this right now, right here before it gets treacherous.

Now the era of our grandparent's are gone, the era of our parent's are almost gone too. Now it is our era.. Let's make it ours.. As we are on the verge of development, we are having the best literacy percentage, per capital head and economic growth rate in the south Asia, so why don't we develop our attitudes as well. Otherwise this all attempt to be a developed country will
