Wedding industry attracts innovative directory

-

From finding the right guy or girl down to actually getting married a new wedding directory will prove to be a quick guide to everything. This innovative idea will be launched this week by the SLT Rainbow Pages as part of providing increased information for those wanting to take the plunge.

The wedding industry is a growing market, SLT Rainbow Pages Assistant Marketing Manager Eric Wijeratne told the Business Times on Friday. With comprehensive information initially SLT has planned to launch the website and the print version would be released in October/november, he said. The directory is categorized according to the region so people would be able to access those in their locality quickly, he said. Everything needed from wedding proposals to obtaining a wedding loan and finding the right persons to take charge of the event would be given on the website.

Responding to a question on possible US sanctions on Sri Lanka following the Geneva resolution, he said that no decision can be taken until and if sanctions were imposed and the specifics were known. But he said that "If it is imposed on us we should face it. We survived the tsunami. We survived the removal of GSP + concessions by the EU. We should learn to adjust and move on," Dr. Jayasundera said.

Referring to borrowings, he said that there was nothing wrong in doing it as long as it is serviced properly. He added that he has also obtained housing and car loans, etc and even uses a credit card. "You must know how to manage your economy cutting down expenses and the country's economy is managed in a similar manner," he added.
