Donates sewing machines to Deaf and Blind School, Ratmalana
To commemorate its 54th anniversary, PHOTO TECHNICA, Kollupitiya donated a stock of sewing machines to the School for the Deaf and Blind at Ratmalana recently. PHOTO TECHNICA was founded by the famous senior photographer Mr. Fred R. Malwenna in 1958.
Expressing his views in this regard, Mr. Harsha Malwenna, Managing Director of PHOTO TECHNICA said...
"We have been commemorating our anniversary over the years by embarking on a social service initiative to extend a helping hand to the less privileged in society. Accordingly, this year, we selected the School for the Deaf and Blind at Ratmalana. The Vocational Training Division of this School conducts vocational training classes for its students with the objective of preparing them for self-employment so that their sustenance in society can be ensured. In order to conduct vocational training on a wider and effective manner, the School was in dire need of new sewing machines. It was to meet this requirement that we donated these sewing machines".
Ms. Sandamalee Medawala, Personnel Executive of PHOTO TECHNICA organized the ceremony to donate of the sewing machines to the School for the Deaf and Blind on behalf of the company.
