Inter School Business Cup 2012

The Inter School Business Cup quiz competition will be held on 04th April, 2012 for the fourth consecutive year at the Sri Dharmaloka convocation hall of University of Kelaniya. This quiz competition is organized by the final year undergraduates of Department of Marketing Management ( DMM), University of Kelaniya.

Inter School business cup is one of the major activities organized by the DMM to provide its graduates a hands on experience on planning & implementing a major event under the subject of “Marketing in Practice”. This is a quiz competition, offered to Advanced Level students of both the local and interna- tional schools in Sri Lanka.

This quiz competition will test the knowledge of students on corporate world and business environment. Furthermore, it will also assess the creativity and team working ability of the students. Questions are asked in English but it will be translated into Sinhala and Tamil languages to eliminate language barriers. The winning school will get the “Inter School Business Cup Challenge Trophy”.

Trophies will be awarded for schools that place second, third, fourth and fifth as well. In addition all the participants will receive a special certificate for their participation in the competition. Many other prizes and gifts would be distributed among students depending on the support of various sponsors.

Due to the uniqueness and media coverage the programme has established over the years the corporate community has enthusiastically came forth to sponsor the event. Most of the sponsors join hands with the university to make this event a success as part of their contribution towards corporate social responsibility in helping national Universities reach their full potential.

More than 150 applications were received and 60 schools were selected on the first come first serve basis. These schools have already confirmed their participation.
