Gateway Kandy joint Champions of Digital Art Competition
Gateway College Kandy were the joint champions along with Colombo International School ( CIS) Colombo at the Digital Art & Animation/digital Film competition that was organized by CIS Colombo. Gateway Kandy was the overall Runnerup last year. This year, 31 leading International, Private and State schools took part in the competition.
There were 15 award winners from Gateway Kandy. Kavinda De Silva and Nazakar Nazar were the Intermediate Overall Winners. Dion Nanayakkara won a Senior Award for Special Talent and Yogaraja Sudharson won an Intermediate Award for Special Talent. Six students - Harin Dassanayake, Mahoshadee De Silva, Nadia Firdous, Sachintha Narangoda, Isuri Ratnayake and Ravindu Seneviratne won Senior Merit Awards for Digital Art. Four students Sachintha Balasooriya, Rismah Hairu, Nirmani Ratnayake and Shalini Senevirathne won Intermediate Merit Awards for Digital Ar t. Chandula Kodituwakku received a Certificate of Merit for Animation.
Students of Gat eway Negombo who are relatively new to this competition also performed very well. G.L.N.A. Madhushan De Silva received a Senior Award for Special Talent. Five students - W. Milan Dhanoj Botheju, Jason Diaz, Shenal Dimithra Perera, Mareena Chrishnie Peter and Tharmagulasingam Upenthiran received Senior Merit Awards for Digital Art. Three students - Sumudu Marasinghe, Samm Jeralyn Pecht and Sawin Ratnayake obtained Intermediate Merit Awards for Digital Art.
Udara Jayawardena of Gateway Colombo won a Certificate of Merit in the Digital Film category.
