NFSL revamps its outlook

-

The Netball Federation of Sri Lanka ( NFSL), in an attempt to make an overall revamp reintroduced its newly recreated logo at an official occasion held in Colombo last Wednesday. According to information provided by Kumudini Gomes, the general secretary of NFSL, the new logo was created with many intentions, aiming at long term benefits.

“We entered to a new sponsorship affiliation with a governmental institution, the Peoples Bank and it was when we thought of remaking the netball logo. What we are trying here is to break free from the conventional thinking pattern and enter a new dimen- sion, to meet the challenges we face in the new world. The sponsors were happy with the new logo and it gives room to incorporate with the sponsors’ logos as well. The overall vision of this is to attract sponsors and at the same time develop the sport in an effective way,” she said. Further according to Gomes, the new sponsors have agreed to foster netball for a period of a year while helping the sport with development aspects. The NFSL aims to sustain sponsorship partnerships on long term deals but their deal with Peoples Banks will stand for a year, while they have already shown their delight to extend it for a longer period. Under the current sponsorship, Peoples Bank will cover the national squads, their high performance training, in addition to a couple of junior national level competition which ends today at Nawalapitiya. - NA
