New lab for Biomedical Technologies

AResearch & Development Laboratory for Biomedical Technologies will be set up under an agreement signed between the University of Moratuwa and Premium International at a ceremony held recently at the Taj Samudra Hotel.

This laboratory, that will develop instrumentation and technologies that can be commercialized to the marketplace and save foreign exchange, will be driven by research engineers, post doctoral and research faculty of the University of Moratuwa.

The combined investment by both the university and Premium International is around Rs. 25 mil- lion for the first two years, with future investment being based on the progress of the research.
