New lab for Biomedical Technologi­es

AResearch & Developmen­t Laboratory for Biomedical Technologi­es will be set up under an agreement signed between the University of Moratuwa and Premium Internatio­nal at a ceremony held recently at the Taj Samudra Hotel.

This laboratory, that will develop instrument­ation and technologi­es that can be commercial­ized to the marketplac­e and save foreign exchange, will be driven by research engineers, post doctoral and research faculty of the University of Moratuwa.

The combined investment by both the university and Premium Internatio­nal is around Rs. 25 mil- lion for the first two years, with future investment being based on the progress of the research.

Premium Internatio­nal is a diversifie­d corporate entity with an interest in healthcare industrial solutions constructi­on and project management.
