The T4 case study (previously TOPCIMA) is unlike any other CIMA exam. It is the final, and the most significant h u rd l e of t he CIMA Professional Level Examinations. The exam primarily involves application of strategic management accounting techniques; where the students are presented with a case study before the exam which is referred to as the pre- seen material which revolves around a specific company and its industry ( for September 2011 and November 2011 exams, the pre- seen was from supermarket industry).
Students are required to write a professional report for 100 marks prioritising, analysing, recommending and justifying decisions where the emphasis is on assessing students' capabilities and competences in applying appropriate knowledge. It also demonstrates the higher level skills of synthesis, evaluation, and skill in presenting and communicating information to users. Our Approach To tackle such a task a student should have developed his or her analytical skills, logical reasoning and the ability to provide commercially sensible recommendations within the g iven time constraint.
