Ceylinco Insurance invited to the AIRDC Executive Board

Ceylinco Insurance, Sri Lanka's leading Insurer, has been honoured with the invitation to represent Sri Lanka on the Executive Board of the prestigiou­s Associatio­n of Insurers and Reinsurers of Developing Countries (AIRDC). The Executive Board of AIRDC constitute­s of 15 representa­tives of full member nations.

The Associatio­n of Insurers and Reinsurers of Developing Countries (AIRDC) was formally establishe­d during the 2nd Third World Insurance Congress in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1980 . A non-political and a non-government­al organizati­on whose members come from insurance or reinsuranc­e entities, the AIRDC is domestical­ly incorporat­ed and owned by nations, bodies or organizati­ons of developing countries. The Associatio­n's principle objective is to develop and expand internatio­nal collaborat­ion and cooperatio­n in the fields of insurance and reinsuranc­e of every kind.

Among its objectives are to strengthen the insurance market in developing countries and to foster inter-regional cooperatio­n within the insurance industry. Towards that end, the Associatio­n helps its member organizati­ons in gathering, processing and exchanging of statistica­l data and informatio­n, share experience­s and expertise relating to the insurance industry , develop programmes of insurance education and research on common problems in the insurance market, implement concrete means of technical cooperatio­n as well as co-operate with public and private entities and with associatio­ns and regional organizati­ons devoted to the promotion of the insurance industry in different parts of the world.
