Triple celebrations...

-

A year ago, Gateway Graduate School together with Edexcel International introduced an exciting new teacher training course to offer a recognized qualification to all teachers and to improve the standards of teaching in international and private schools throughout Sri Lanka. The first intake that has completed their course of study received the Edexcel Professional Diploma in Teaching. Ms. Isabel Sutcliffe, Director of Regulations, Standards and Research of Edexcel was present to distribute certificates to the teachers who successfully completed the Diploma. Mr. Suriya Bibile, Regional Development Manager, Edexcel – Sri Lanka, Maldives & Pakistan too was present at the occasion. In this short period of time Gateway has had four intakes in Colombo and two intakes in Kandy. Plans are underway to commence training in Negombo within the next few months.

Another important step that Gateway has taken is to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the Nottingham Trent University, UK. Professor Nigel Healey, Pro-Vice- Chancellor (International) of the Nottingham Trent University signed the MoU with Dr. Harsha Alles, the Director of the Gateway Group. The two institutions will develop articulation pathways in many areas of study. Plans are already afoot to provide an articulation pathway to the Diploma holders in teaching to complete a BA in Education here in Sri Lanka.
