The AMC is located on the banks of the beautiful Tamar River in Australia’s picturesque island state of Tasmania.

The college has two main campuses. The Newnham site is in Launceston – a vibrant regional city known for its stunning architecture and Mediterranean climate, along with many cultural activities and sporting events.

The second campus, home to AMC’s impressive fleet of training and research vessels, is located at Beauty Point where the river meets the sea.

In addition to vessels, AMC has a suite of world- class training and research facilities including maritime simulators; engineering workshops; firefighting, survival and damage control facilities; as well as the unique cluster of hydrodynamic facilities wihich i n clude a towing tank, model test basin, circulating water channel and a cavitation research lab- oratory.

Many of AMC’s teaching and research facilities are also used commercially by government bodies and maritime organisations, which often leads to students accessing work experience and ongoing employment opportunities.
