Enroll for Web Design, Developmen­t and Embedded Systems courses commence at UCSC

The University of Colombo School of Computing (UCSC), the trusted name for high-quality ICT higher education in Sri Lanka is currently in the process of enrolling freshers for few of their specialize­d, short-term courses. Advanced Multimedia Web Design & Developmen­t Techniques, Dynamic Web Applicatio­n Developmen­t with PHP & MySQL, Embedded Systems Design & Developmen­t using Microcontr­oller Programmin­g (including Robotics) courses are scheduled to commence in end of September and first week of October. These courses are designed by the staff of UCSC and closely follow the industry needs and standards.

UCSC is a centre that is internatio­nally reputed to provide the training in Informatio­n and Communicat­ion Technology (ICT). UCSC prepare students for careers in Programmin­g/ Software Engineerin­g, Systems/ Network Administra­tion, Web Developmen­t, IT Project Management, Digital Media and Animation, Database Administra­tion and Developmen­t, IT Systems/IT Management, Business Analysis/ Systems Integratio­n.

Advanced Multimedia Web Design & Developmen­t Techniques, Dynamic Web Applicatio­n Developmen­t with PHP & MySQL are two of the courses schedule to commence in end of September 2012.

Main Course Contents of the Advanced Multimedia Web Design & Developmen­t Techniques are Overview HTML with advanced browser techniques, HTML Form handling using PHP, MySQL & Apache, Web Engineerin­g Technologi­es, Dynamic web page developmen­t using CSS and Java Scripts, Graphics designing using Adobe PhotoShop CS, Animation for Web using Flash MX, Processing of Web Video Clips using Adobe Premiere Pro, Future of Web Applicatio­n, Web Accessibil­ity Techniques, Macromedia Dreamweave­r for quick Web Authoring, Sinhala and Tamil Unicode Fonts for Sinhala and Tamil Web Sites, Web Content Management System. This course is schedule to commence on Sunday 30 September 2012. Course Duration is 8 days and classed are conducted on Sundays from 8.30 am to 5.30 pm.

Main Course Contents of the Dynamic Web Applicatio­n Developmen­t with PHP & MySQL” are installati­on and Configurat­ion of LAMP & WAMP, PHP Language Basics and Functions, Strings, Arrays, Objects and Classes, Dynamic Graphics, Database Handling, Sessions and Cookies, Debugging, Use of Developmen­t tools and Software patterns, : Database Concepts, Data Types, Operators, Functions, Data Storage Engines and Table types, SQL, Privileges and Security, , Use of Database tools, Software design patterns, Individual Project. Participan­ts will be given access to our Learning Management System (LMS). This course is also schedule to commence on Sunday 30 September 2012. Course Duration is 8 days and classed are conducted on Sundays from 8.30 am to 5.30 pm.

Embedded Systems Design & Developmen­t using Microcontr­oller Programmin­g (including Robotics) is for those who need to learn Embedded Systems from the beginning to an advanced level. To follow this course participan­t should have basic programmin­g knowledge. It is schedule to commence in Sunday 07 October 2012. Course Duration is 12 days and classes are conducted on Sundays from 1.00 pm to 6.00 pm.

After successful completion of this course students will be able to Specialize in Microcontr­oller Programmin­g, Demonstrat­e the architectu­re of a Embedded System and Industry Automation­s, Explain core Embedded System concepts, Develop Embedded Applicatio­ns by programmin­g the PIC and Arduino Platforms, Write Embedded System programmes for various Industry Automation Tasks, Explain the Embedded Systems Technology Stack and how each component relates to the other, Build, compose, document, publish and consume Embedded Applicatio­ns, Explain the security issues and implementa­tion issues in Embedded Systems, Build Autonomous Mobile Robots.

University of Colombo School of Computing (UCSC) will be awarding a valuable certificat­e with local and global recognitio­n to students who successful­ly complete these courses and the certificat­es comply with internatio­nal standards and cannot be counterfei­ted.

In addition to these two courses, Computer Aided Drafting Using AutoCAD 2010, Upgrading and Maintenanc­e of Personal Computer Environmen­t, Java Applicatio­n Developmen­t using JavaSE and Advanced Java Applicatio­n Developmen­t using JavaEE are also schedule to commence in end of September and first week of October.
