“I want to be able to design and construct every piece to especially suit the person who wears it. That’s why I don’t have my designs in stores at the moment. I want to make the C.h.a.r.l.e.n.e.’s customers feel special and important; because they are! In the next few years I would hope to take C.h.a.r.l.e.n.e. to the international scene. Obviously by that I would have to manufacture in mass. And by then if I do succeed that I would hope to have a store of my own in SL too.”www.thecouturist.com

AOD’s principal, British fashion designer Karen MacLeod commented on Charlene’s success and mentioned that AOD is extremely proud of Charlene and her accomplishment with the new brand. “Seeing our stu- dents go out there and do things that make Sri Lanka’s design sphere alive, inspiring and interesting, is the highest form of compliment we receive as a design campus” said MacLeod.
