IPM – PCGD September Intake House Full!

IPM hits record student registrati­on for PCGD Programme just after two weeks of 2012 A/Level Examinatio­ns.

Second Batch commences in October, following repeated requests by parents and students.

Students prove once again that their first and the best choice after A/levels is IPM Sri Lanka.

IPM - the Institute of Personnel Management Sri Lanka Inc. – the first ISO 9001:2008 Certified Human Resource Management Institute, registered a record number of new students just after two weeks of 2012 Advanced Level Examinatio­ns, for its Programme in Career Guidance and Developmen­t (PCGD), a pro- gramme, which is specially designed for students after G.C.E. Advanced Level Examinatio­ns, with record breaking number of students embarking on their journey to become fully qualified Human Resource Profession­als.

The demand for this programme is consistent across the country, which saw increasing numbers of school leavers choosing to study IPM programmes. IPM is opening its students’ registrati­ons yet again in the month of September to accommodat­e a large number of inquiries and requests made by parents and students.

Any student having six passes in G.C.E (Ordinary Level) Examinatio­n can register for this much sought after course - the Programme in Career Guidance and Developmen­t (PCGD).

IPM has establishe­d strong relationsh­ips with some of the most reputed universiti­es, both local and internatio­nal such as the Open University of Sri Lanka, the Northumbri­a University of UK etc. and shows a clear path for its students to obtain a Profession­al Qualificat­ion in HRM as well as an MBA in HRM. These partnershi­ps show that the universiti­es include the IPM syllabus in their curriculum, ensuring high quality entrants to the programme and a sustainabl­e teaching model.

Dyan Seneviratn­e, Chief Executive Officer of IPM, commented: ‘2012Septem­ber has seen IPM’s largest ever student intake– a figure that still rising for PCGD Programme,just after A/level Examinatio­ns. These numbers show that in challengin­g times, ambitious school leavers across the country are taking no chances with their future careers and are choosing to study and aim for a qualificat­ion that will equip them with the skills and expertise in the field of Human Resource Management to become business leaders of the future.’

The Institute of Personnel Management Sri Lanka (IPM), founded in 1959, is a profession­al body incorporat­ed by an Act of Parliament No. 24 of 1976. The IPM is affiliated to the Asia Pacific Federation of Human Resource Management and the World Federation of Personnel Management Associatio­ns. The vision, mission, values and objectives of the Institute focus on uplifting of the profession­al standards in Human Resource Management and the developmen­t of the Human Resource Management profession through a process which includes profession­al examinatio­ns, seminars/workshops, conference­s, HR consultanc­y and research studies.

In addition to Colombo, the IPM programmes are conducted in other main cities of the country through its Regional Study Centres establishe­d in Kandy, Kurunegala, Matara, Gampaha and Jaffna. Plans are underway to expand the IPM Regional Network throughout the country.
