Sri Lanka’s Nalin Wijetilleke, a New Zealand resident, has received the ‘Harold Weiss Award’ from the Information Systems Audit & Control Association (ISACA) – USA, at the recent IT Audit, Control and Security Conference in Wellington, New Zealand.

“This is an award given as an exceptional recognition for dedication to IT governance, assurance and security profession,” the winner said in a communication to the newspaper.

The award is given to who far exceed the norm. Nominees are provided by the ISACA general membership of nearly 100,000 members worldwide and with the input from the international president and approved by the ISACA board. It is not an annual award, but awarded only as merited.

Mr Wijetilleke is the only Sri Lankan to receive such a prestigious award. He is presently working with KPMG New Zealand –a global accounting, audit and advisory firm. He was a senior banking executive in Dubai, UAE, prior to moving over to New Zealand. He has received many awards in recognition for his professional contributions to the global community.

His combination of exceptional professional credentials in IS audit, governance, business continuity and disaster recovery has made him a soughtafter professional. Wijetilleke is an old boy of St Aloysius’ College, Galle and alumni of PIM, University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
