Three wins for Asoka de Silva SC

- The Asoka de Silva SC team that toured Malaysia

Asoka de Silva School of Cricket posted three wins and suffered one loss on their recent tour of Malaysia, where they participat­ed in the Friendship Cricket Tournament organized by the Malay Cricket Associatio­n of Malaysia.

All matches were played at the Baya Emas Oval, Kuala Lumpur and consisted of 30 overs per game. The batting star of the tour was Arosa Sadaruwan who aggregated 143 in three innings with a top score of 97 in the final game against the Malaysian under 15 team.

The leading wicket takers were Vidura Wickramasi­nghe with 13 scalps and Rusthum Miskin with 11. Others to shine on the tour were, Ravindu Chathurang­a with an aggregate of 71 runs and the ‘ baby’ of the team the under 12 Dhanuka Alahakoon who finished the tour with five wickets.

The most outstandin­g fielder was Dinuska Anupama.

The biggest win of the tour was recorded in their final match where the defeated the Malaysia under 15 team by a massive 118 runs. After posting a match winning score of 206 for three wickets in their quota of 30 overs, with Aros Sadaruwan being most unfortunat­e to miss a well deserved century by only three runs, the bundled their opponents out for just 88 runs.

The team was managed and coached by Thilak de Silva.
