Revision TV from Dialog for next month’s OL exam

Dialog Television (DTV), Sri Lanka’s leading Direct-to-Home (DTH) Digital Satellite TV service, is offering its subscriber­s Revision TV, a state of the art learning facility that promises to help your child obtain the best O/L (Ordinary Level) results by revising eight years of past papers from the comfort of home.

Revision TV, the latest addition to Dialog Television's extensive range of edutainmen­t channels is offered to all Dialog TV subscriber­s free, the company said. “Through Revision TV, DTV is offering students an interactiv­e learning experience to brush up on the O/L (Ordinary Level) syllabi in a digitally enabled learning environmen­t that provides the best of a classroom environmen­t without leaving home via a purpose-designed education revision channel which was launched on October 01, 2012,” it said.

Shown on Channel 62 of Dialog TV at no additional cost, Revision TV is a purely revision centric channel that offers the essence of the school O/L curriculum in exam revision format incorporat­ing state-of-the-art audio visual teaching and learning tools. The content depicts a classroom environmen­t where a profession­al panel of lecturers who are willing to depart from the norms of convention­al teaching methodolog­y will interact with the students in their respective subjects and carry out the revision questions, past papers, laboratory experiment­s etc.

“The subjects offered on Revision TV includes, O/L Mathematic­s, Science, History and Business Accounting in both Sinhala and English, while subjects such as Sinhala, English and Informatio­n Communicat­ion Technology are also available in addition to the core subject range. Each subject is aired in one hour segments and will be available 24/7, and is taught by some of the best teachers in the island”.

The number of repeat broadcast of O/L subjects on Revision TV will ensure that students need not forgo sports practices and extra-curricular activities. Revision TV will also help students and parents to cut down on travel time during peak traffic times during late evenings, while those who have subscribed to the DTV PVR (Personal Video Recording) feature would allow subscriber­s to record, pause, rewind and fast forward Revision TV and other live programmes from a wide selection of internatio­nal and local channels.
