-

Cargills Food City, Sri Lanka's No 1 supermarket chain has renewed its promise of 'lowest prices' with the launch of the LOWEST PRICE CHALLENGE programme. The PRICE CHALLENGE ensures that Cargills Food City is the only supermarket in Sri Lanka offering the lowest prices for daily essentials including fresh produce and groceries.

MISSION TO HELP SRI LANKANS LIVE BETTER

Sidath Kodikara, Chief Operating Officer , Cargills (Ceylon) PLC said the PRICE CHALLENGE offer simply reinforces what Cargills Food City stands for. "Our daily mission is to help reduce the cost of living and we have a 365 day programme to keep prices at their lowest levels at each of the 198 supermarkets across Sri Lanka. We must stress that the basket of goods we have offered at the lowest price are absolute essentials that are consumed everyday by average Sri Lankans. The savings they can get from this basket are astounding and this in turn can help them enjoy a better quality of life, help pay a bill or support the education of a child. That's the objective of the PRICE CHALLENGE, to help all Sri Lankans live better through the savings we make possible," Kodikara added.

"If any supermarket has a lower price for selected items- we will match it!"

Pravin David, General Manager - Retail Marketing Cargills Food City said in offering the LOWEST PRICE CHALLENGE for a host of daily essentials including rice, dhal, green gram, potatoes, onions, garlic, canned fish, milk powder, malted milk, coconut oil, wheat flour, salt, margarine, noodles, soap, washing powder, toothpaste, noodles etc. The prices are also the lowest for selected fresh vegetables and fruit. Cargills Food City takes on the challenge that no other supermarket can match their prices on the selected daily essentials and vegetables. "If they do, we will match it. If a customer can walk in with a bill from another supermarket with a lower price on these selected items then we will certainly match it. We are confident that no other supermarket has the volume, the efficiency and the commitment to offer these commodities and vegetables at the lowest price and continue to sustain it across the island throughout the year," David said.

The Cargills Food City LOWEST PRICE CHALLENGE is an offer valid for all customers and available at every outlet anywhere in the island.
