AES introduce mechanical sweepers for efficient street cleaning first time in Sri Lanka

Abans Environmental Services ( Pvt) Ltd., ( AES) is a part of Abans Group of companies, which commenced operations in Sri Lanka in 1985. Although initially the company began as a Janitorial Service provider, today they have expanded and diversified their activities to several other areas, such as Solid Waste Management, Hygiene Services, Tea Service, Pest Control, Landscaping/ Garden Maintenance, Office Support Services and Environmental Services.

The company ventured into Solid Waste Disposal in December 1998 with the CMC in Colombo City and suburbs and has introduced modern technology in this operation with the addition of new Mechanical Sweepers, Compacter Machines and various other latest machines for more efficiency in carrying out the services. AES was appointed by the Colombo Municipal Council for street cleaning and garbage disposal services in certain areas and have been actively and efficiently involved in this field for the past 14 years. To provide a better and more efficient service Abans have recently imported a Mechanical Sweeper, a highly sophisticated mobile device introduced for the first time in Sri Lanka, that cleans and sucks up dirt, litter and even fine dust particles scattered along the streets. Presently, the work is carried out manually which is time and labour consuming.

Today, Sri Lanka's urban road structure is in a revolutionary development stage to caterto increased traffic movement. Regular cleaning and mainte- nance is important to prevent hazards and complete cleaning operations within set time frames to avoid traffic congestion.

With the new Mechanical Sweeper employed to clean main roads and highways, Abans are confident that they can achieve targets quicker and more efficiently and divert their man power to smaller assignments of cleaning side streets.

Apart from Street Cleaning and Solid Waste Management, AES provides a diverse range of services.
