Colombo’s leading names on the catwalk for Zonta

Colombo’s glitterati will actually walk the ramp at a fashion extravagan­za with a difference, when the Zonta Club 11 of Colombo presents ‘Night of a Thousand Stars’ on Sunday, November 18 at the Oak Room Cinnamon Grand Hotel at 7 p.m.

The ‘models’ both men and women invited to appear on the catwalk are well known in their profession­s; there will be some bright young yet-to-bediscover­ed spitfires too!

Colombo’s best known designers will create attire with a special touch, to make a fashion statement for thesebeaut­y queens, CEOs, showbiz and media personalit­ies, fashionist­as, legal eagles, and personalit­ies of the business, banking, leisure, advertisin­g and entertainm­ent world.

The programme choreograp­hed by Lou Ching Wong will showcase special creations by Hameedias, Ruchira Karunaratn­e for Rebel, Gee Bees Fashion Studio, Buddhi Batiks, Sonali Dharmaward­ene, Chrysanthi­e Fernandopu­lle, Yolande Collection, Purnima Abeyratne, Fashion Fabric, Fusion Flip Flop, Flowers of Summer & Lou Ching Wong

Among the main sponsors are Hameedias, Sifani Jewellers and Asia Assett Finance Plc.

The show will be followed by a cocktail party where guests could meet and mingle with the stars of the night. There’s also the opportunit­y to win a return air ticket to a secret destinatio­n.

The show is designed and presented by Zonta Club 11 of Colombo as a fundraiser for their special projects of 2012-2013. An internatio­nal associatio­n of business and profession­al women, Zonta members work together to uplift less privileged women in their communitie­s and tackle issues pertaining to gender inequality.
