Find a gift at this year’s Toy Association sale

- By Shalomi Daniel

Santa could do with some help this season and a sale with a wide selection of toys and children’s furniture from cuddly toys to jigsaw puzzles and Montessori teaching aids all under one roof seems the ideal place to start.

The sale organised by the Toy Exporters Association (TEA) is back this year after a lapse of three years in response to popular demand. The sale used to be an eagerly anticipated annual event held for six consecutive years each December to coincide with the festive season. “We had many requests coming in asking us to resume the sale and so we are hoping to make it an annual event once more,” says a member of the TEA, Rohini Lintotawela.

The sale seeks to give local consumers the opportunity to purchase at affordable prices, products of manufacturers who cater to the international market. Consumers are presented with a wide range of toys and children’s furniture to choose from as the sale brings under one roof many reputed toy exporters who are members of the TEA. The products are in line with international safety standards as the producers adhere to the stringent quality standards set forth by their overseas importers. This year’s sale will see the participation of nine toy exporters. Wooden toys produced by the Asian Toy Company, Ja Ja Toys, Simplex, Wood 4 Kids and Kidzkraft, Fabric and Plush toys from Toys and I and DSL Lanka, Montessori items by Montessori Workshop and Board Games and Jigsaw Puzzles by Panther will be made available to the consumers at the sale.

With Christmas around the corner the sale promises to provide an enjoyable shopping spree. It’s on at the Girls’ Friendly Society Hall at 58, Green Path, Colombo 3 on December 8 between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m.
