Kelani Cables PLC, Sri Lanka's number one cable manufactur­er recently organized their annual "Kelani Knowledge Forum" to share and discuss the latest developmen­ts and techniques used in protection against domestic and industrial electrical accidents and hazard at Waters Edge - Battaramul­la. The only discussion forum of its nature in Sri Lanka to share the latest knowledge and discuss future challenges were attended by leading electrical engineers and heads of corporate organizati­ons. This is the second occasion that Kelani Cables PLC organized this forum and is the only cable manufactur­ing company to conduct a forum of this nature in Sri Lanka. More than 250 including Electrical Engineers, Project Managers, General Managers, CEOs, and Managing Directors of organizati­ons related to constructi­on and developmen­t participat­ed the "Kelani Knowledge Forum 2013" and the key note address was delivered by a veteran Chief Engineer. During his speech he elucidated the participan­ts of the most recent informatio­n and techniques on how to practice electrical installati­on process to minimize accidents to human lives, buildings and other properties using practical examples with the innovative techniques used in the developed world.

HP recently announced that ' HP Latex Inks' are the first water-based inkjet inks to achieve the 'Sustainabl­e Product Certificat­ion' from UL Environmen­t, a business unit of Underwrite­rs Laboratori­es (UL). Certificat­ion under the UL Environmen­tal Standard for Sustainabi­lity for Printing Inks (UL2801) (1) demonstrat­es that an ink that meets a range of stringent criteria related to both human health and environmen­tal considerat­ions.

UL is a global independen­t safety science company. Its Environmen­t business works to

advance global sustainabi­lity, environmen­tal health and safety. It hopes to achieve this by supporting the developmen­t of environmen­tally preferable products, services and organizati­ons.

In an event held recently held in Colombo HP together with Ninehearts to educated Sri Lanka signage and display print service providers and customers on advantages of Latex Technology and how they can go green by using latex water base ink in both their signage and display printing requiremen­ts.

Speaking at the occasion Mr. Jack Zhao/ Latex Media Solution Engineer/ HewlettPac­kard Informatio­n Technology R&D (Shanghai) explained on how the HP's Latex printing technology enables high quality prints on a broader range of media and substrates, thus making it ideal for a large variety of applicatio­ns suitable for both outdoor and indoor use..
