Sri Lankan HR professional honoured at the Global HR Excellence Awards in India

The "Global HR Excellence Award" at the World HRD Congress held in Mumbai, India has conferred a "Life Time Achievement Award" to Mr. Lalith .A.P.Wijetunge for his contribution to the Human Resources Management profession globally. It is the highest honour which an individual can receive for his/her contribution to the HR profession. Mr. Wijetunge is one of the recipients of this prestigious award among a very few of the recipients from the entire world over eighty countries have been participated.

Mr. Lalith Wijetunge was a Past President of the Institute of Personnel Management Sri Lanka for three consecutive years and he is instrumental in launching the second phase of the building project of "HR House" in Narahenpita. He was a Vice president of the Asia Pacific Federation of Human Resources Management and presently a Vice President of the Organization of Professional Associations of Sri Lanka. Mr. Wijetunge is a well reputed HR professional in the region and has initiated various projects to uplift the quality of the working people in the region. He had worked for various public sector and Private sector organizations as Head of Human Resources and presently he is working for SLT Manpower Solutions Pvt Ltd a fully owned subsidiary of Sri Lanka Telecom as Head of Human Resources. He was awarded several international awards for his contribution to the HR fraternity in the region and this is the third consecutive international award in a row received by him during recent past.

The award ceremony was held in a leading hotel in Mumbai under the patronage of world renowned HR professionals and business community in the world.
