- Name School Votes

The year of 2013 is a memorable one for Thurstan and Isipathana colleges who celebrate their 50th Big Match encounter next week. So it will be a memorable one for Thurstanite Minhaj Jaleel who will be part of this encounter and above all the undisputed leader of the 34th Bata-the Sunday Times Most Popular Schoolboy Cricketer of the Year 2013 for the ninth consecutive week.

Jaleel received 1049 votes this week and his tally swelled to 14855 with a massive lead from the rest of the competitors.

Jaleel enjoys a gigantic lead of 11283 votes from second-placed A.K. Tyron of Richmond Galle who is at 3572 as the entire line up remains the same apart from the sudden hop by Roshan Anuruddha of Gurukula Kelaniya. He jumped three places up to eighth after obtaining just 21 votes.

Meanwhile Dushan Hemantha, the skipper of St. Peter’s College Colombo is closing in to grab Tyron’s place. Hemantha is at third place at present but he is just 109 votes behind Tyron. This week Hemantha received 319 votes and Tyron got just 26. If this fashion of receiving counts continues to go on Hemantha can effortlessly snatch the second slot maybe in a week.

Following them are Sachin Bulathsinhala of St. Anthony’s Katugastota, Jason Buultjens of St. Peter’s and Anuruddha who cost Damindu Ashan of Royal Panadura, Kusal Mendis of Prince of Wales’ and Royal Colombo skipper Devin Pathmanathan a place respectively.
