Battle ofkalutara should be interesting
The annual Mangoosteen’s Battle cricket encounter between the two leading schools in Kalutara, Kalutara Vidyalaya and Tissa Central, will be played on March 22 and 23 at the Kalutara Esplanade. This will be the 55th occasion that both these teams will clash one another for supremacy since 1949.
Kalutara Vidyalaya has played 11 games so far this season and remain unbeaten. Isuru Buddhika will lead Kalutara Vidyalaya this year while he will be deputised by Vinuth Rashinda.
Their rivals Tissa Central has played 10 encounters while winning five of them. Tissa Central will be led by Damindu Niranjan with Milindu Sampath as his deputy. Both teams are equipped with talented allrounders making this year’s encounter an interesting battle.
