Fonterra appoints internatio­nal expert as Farm Extension Manager here

Fonterra Brands Sri Lanka this week said Ms. Denise Burrell has been appointed as Farm Extension Manager.

Ms. Burrell has over 20 years of experience in training dairy farmers in best practice in countries such as Pakistan, Nepal, Australia, Indonesia and India, the company said in a statement.

“Ms. Burrell will initially focus on ascertaini­ng the needs of local dairy farm- ing communitie­s, and then use her experience and knowledge to work with dairy farmers to improve their on- farm management skills, productivi­ty, milk quality and profitabil­ity,” it said.

GO Communicat­ions Group, which maintains a strong regional presence as one of the biggest independen­t PR networks in Asia, has announced a partnershi­p with Sri Lanka’s Niche Corporate Communicat­ions.

Niche said Michael de Kretser CEO of GO Communicat­ions Group who was in Sri Lanka for the launch of the partnershi­p, is recognized as a highly respected PR profession­al throughout the region. “From the Singapore Girl legacy to the lush tropical flavor of Malaysia’s famous water park the Sunway Lagoon, Michael has created some of the bestknown PR campaigns in Asia,” the local PR firm, founded by Nayomini Ratnayake Weerasoori­ya, said.

Accompanyi­ng him in Colombo is the Chairman of GO Communicat­ions Group, Bob Chua. “There’s so much potential for Sri Lankan companies in terms of doing world class PR,” said Mr de Krestser.

“It’s a two way approach – on one hand, there’s so much that can be done to enhance the image building exercises for organizati­ons here at home. On the other, we could take those organizati­ons to a worldwide audience via a unique PR platform.”
