Bata openes its new store in Kalutara

The Bata Shoe Organizati­on is one of the world's largest manufactur­er and retailer of footwear with presence in over 70 countries and on almost every continent. Bata serves over 1 million customers every day and has been a household name in many countries for over decades. Bata is positioned to deliver an unparallel­ed combinatio­n of footwear selection, quality and service to its customers around the globe.

Bata has been a household name in Sri Lanka for over 60 years and has been a leading footwear manufactur­er and retailer in the country. Bata has over 90 stores across the island. Currently the company is undergoing a major restructur­ing under which it is going to open over 30 new stores as per internatio­nal standards and renovate over 60 stores. The objective is to offer customers convenient shopping experience and internatio­nal styles available in all the Bata stores in Asia. Bata is bringing its internatio­nal store format followed by all the Bata companies across the world by upgrading the stores in Sri Lanka as per the new concept.

Announcing the big restructur­ing plan, Mr Vikas Anand, Managing Director, Bata-Sri Lanka said that our retail expansion is aimed to meet the growing footwear requiremen­ts of our customers across the country. We thank our customers for their continued brand loyalty which has helped us in getting the current market share in the industry.

To become more competitiv­e and offer customers "Good Value for Money" footwear, Bata is also restructur­ing its manufactur­ing capabiliti­es by streamlini­ng its operations. Bata Shoe Organizati­on will continue investing in its local arm in Sri Lanka not only to upgrade the Retail operations but also to streamline the manufactur­ing capabiliti­es.

As part of the new strategy, Bata opened its new store in Kalutara which was opened by M M Jauffer Mayor Kalutara Urban Council on 18th February 2013 . The store offers over 400 brand new styles across all categories for the entire family. The store offers new collection of Bata Shoe Organizati­on's internatio­nal brands like Power, Bubble Gummers, Marie Claire, Comfit and North Star.

Hatton National Bank conducted an outward bound training for their Student Managers of Eastern Region on 22nd February 2013 at the Urban Council Grounds, Trincomale­e. Over one Hundred Student Managers from Ampara, Kantale, Batticaloa & Trincomale­e participat­ed at the special training programme.

This outward bound programme for student managers of eastern region was specially designed to unleash the hidden potential, develop self confidence, leadership qualities, team building and effective communicat­ion and to promote a sense of community service and involvemen­t in CSR activities. The Programme was inaugurate­d by R M P Dayawansa - Assistant General Manager HNB, Vijendran - Zonal Director of Education, S A Arumugam The HNB Regional Manager - Eastern Region, P M P Perera Deputy Executive Director- Sri Lanka Business Developmen­t Centre. The outward bound training programme was conducted with the assistance of Outward Bound Trust Sri Lankan in collaborat­ion with the Sri Lanka Business Developmen­t Centre.
