Choosing the No.1 Mechanical Ventilation & Air Conditioning (MVAC) Systems for commercial & industrial usage

- Sanjeev Seth - Head of Sales for SAARC countries and John Leslie from - Global Product Specialist for Centravac Chillers, TRANE-USA

Abans jointly with TRANE-Ingersoll Rand (USA), manufacturers of the world's most popular TRANE Chillers and Air Conditioning systems, hosted a technical session on 4th March 2013 at THE KINGSBURY, Colombo on the topic 'Making the Right Choice when choosing MVAC Solutions'. With the participation of senior consultants, investors and decision makers it was a very fruitful event for the entire gathering as TRANE experts delivered an indepth presentation on how to select the perfect chiller.

The distinguished speakers who delivered the key session Mr. John Leslie from - Global Product Specialist for CenTraVac Chillers, TRANEUSA and Mr. Sanjeev Seth - Head of Sales for SAARC countries presented information and calculations required for the correct application and selection of MVAC systems, taking into consideration the climate conditions and load factors to select and operate the best, most efficient chillers.

The presentation of refrigerant R123 and its acceptance globally was elaborated by John Leslie, explaining the benefits to the customer in terms of total cost of ownership. The refrigerant is widely used globally as R123 & it has a minimal, almost negligible effect on global warming and ozone depletion compared to other refriger- ants. TRANE as a leading manufacturer of chillers are focused towards Energy efficient-ECO friendly systems.

Further, he enthused about exciting new technologies from TRANE and when to use VFD centrifugal chiller according to the weather conditions in Sri Lanka, with an explanation of Lift vs. Load variation.

Sanjeev Seth spoke on the topic TRANE chiller plant control systems and special services such as Automatic Tube Brushing System and Adiabatic cooling systems.

TRANE was incorporated in 1913 in the United States of America (USA) and they quickly became pioneers in Air Conditioning by 1931. They continued in similar vein, winning the praise of a multitude of clients worldwide, as they celebrate their 100th anniversary this year. TRANE provides a complete set of products and services of mechanical ventila- tion, air conditioning and indoor air quality systems for large commercial buildings, light commercial buildings and for home uses.

TRANE chillers at their core, play a vital role in creating the right comfort & environment. TRANE chillers not only provide the right temperature, humidity and ventilation, they also help reduce your cost of operation, provide energy efficiency and minimize environmental impact. In fact, TRANE EarthWise CenTraVac chiller received the U.S. EPA's Climate Protection Award for superior performance, boasting efficiencies at ARI-rated conditions and lowest refrigerant-emission level.

The extensive TRANE chiller line includes centrifugal, twin screw and scroll compressor chillers as well as absorption chillers, ranging in nominal capacities from 10 to 3,950 tons. TRANE liquid chillers are relied upon for both comfort and process applications. TRANE chillers are also certified with ARI Standards and LEEDS Certification.

Abans Ltd - Central Air Conditioning & Engineering has been in operation since 1990 and operates with professional Engineers for MVAC with a mission to add value to their customers by offering world class products and services that reflects the important combination of comfort, convenience and quality.

Abans Central Air conditioning company provides a complete package of MVAC systems with design, installation, commissioning and after sales services for their customers. The Central Air Conditioning & Engineering Division of Abans Ltd., is the Sole Agent for World renowned Air conditioning equipment such as TRANE Chillers, MITSUBISHI - VRF and Packaged Units, LG-Multi V III systems, MESAN MST Cooling Towers, P3 ducting material etc.

Abans introduced the Mitsubishi VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) system to the Sri Lankan market in 2005 as an alternate solution for split and Central Air Conditioning systems and it has the highest efficiency level thanks to the environmental friendly R410A refrigerant, that does not contribute to global warming and ozone depletion.

The Engineers and Technicians are trained at our Academy as well as at TRANE, LG and Mitsubishi training centres in Dubai, France, Thailand and Malaysia, in order to provide hands on experience and in-depth knowledge on the respective products and the new developments in technology.

The Central Air Conditioning Division comprises of well-equipped Maintenance Division and qualified, experienced Engineering Staff who excel in their individual fields, making Abans Limited one of the forerunners in the Air Conditioning Industry.
