Education Malaysia and Skills Training exposition 2013 organized by Rexpocentr­al sdn. Bhd. ( Malaysia) and Seekers Worldwide Pvt. Ltd will be held in Colombo for the first time on 30th and 31st of March 2013 at the Galadari Hotel, Colombo from 11.00am – 4.00pm.

This event is endorsed by the department of Skills Developmen­t (DSD), Ministry of Human Resources Malaysia. The objective of the event is to promote lifelong learning especially in providing a platform for students, teachers and parents to explore various training opportunit­ies in Malaysia. At the event students, teachers and parents will have the opportunit­y to directly discuss various study options with the internatio­nal representa­tives from the universiti­es and Malaysian educationa­l and training institutio­ns.

Malaysia has become a popular destinatio­n amongst students in Sri Lanka who want to pursue their higher studies overseas mainly because it is a cost effective study location where students can obtain an American, British or Australian degree for one third of the cost. Seekers Worldwide offer their services free of charge to students who wish to continue their higher studies overseas and is dedicated towards helping students who wish to study in Malaysia by providing relevant informatio­n and advice to students who wish to obtain a qualificat­ion from either a Malaysian vocational training institutio­n or universiti­es from Australia, USA, New Zealand, Britain that offer degree programs in Malaysia. These universiti­es offer students transfer options to continue their studies and scholarshi­ps as well. Students can obtain a foundation, diploma, degree, Masters or a PhD from top public or private Malaysian university.

Students, working adults or any individual- whether employed or unemployed irrespecti­ve of one’s English knowledge or education background can apply for the skills Malaysia Program which will further give them an opportunit­y to gain a placement in industrial vocational training and paid internship­s.

Skills Malaysia Programme offers many courses such as:

Hotel Industry (Culinary, Food & Beverage, Housekeepi­ng, Front Office, etc) Mechanical Electrical Automotive Electrical Engineerin­g Printing and Packaging Oil & Gas Mining Building & Constructi­on Transporta­tion and Logistics Telecommun­ication & Broadcasti­ng Informatio­n Technology and Communicat­ions Beauty Culture & Hairdressi­ng Business Management Robotics Pharmaceut­icals & Chemicals Bio Technology & Bio Chemistry Welding, under water welding

Agricultur­e & Agro Based industry and many more

This event will be a valuable opportunit­y for students to get the appropriat­e informa- tion from the relevant representa­tives. At the exhibition there will be a waiver of 300USD for students who apply for any private university and 100USD waiver for students who wish to enroll with a training institutio­n. In Addition, there will be a free workshop for skills enhancemen­t where a certificat­e will be awarded to the participan­ts.
