Orient Finance endevours to swell its fixed deposit base offering incentives

With a ten year track record of commendabl­e financial services to the country , Orient Finance PLC offer innovative fixed deposit products to customers, a top official of the company said. The company is promoting short term and long term fixed deposits of one month to sixty months maturity periods winning the confidence of depositors, said Mrs. Geethika Wickremasi­nghe, the AGM of the Fixed Deposit Division in an interview with Sunday Times.

The Fixed Deposit division is the latest addition to the product portfolio of Orient Finance with the acquiring of the license as a finance company on 25 June 2012 under the Finance Business Act No.42 of 2011, subsequent to which the company was renamed as Orient Finance PLC. While transformi­ng itself from a specialise­d leasing company to a finance company, Orient Finance is now focusing on expanding the deposit taking , Leasing, Hire Purchase, Pawning and Debt Factoring businesses, she said. The company also debuted in the Colombo Stock Exchange as a public limited company as of 7 June 2012 opening its doors to public s h a r e h o l d e r s, she said. The company also makes seasonal offers providing many incentives for its depositors under Orient Garusaru for elders, Pro Saver for profession­als, Yuwathi for ladies and Orient Saver for the ordinary saver.

Apart from this the company has introduced a new year deposit product where the interest payment for the whole year is paid upfront to meet the new year expenses, as a new year bonanza she disclosed . Orient Fiannce has strengthen­ed its customer service through its head office in Borella, branches in Galle, Matara, Kurunegala, Ampara, Kochchikad­e, Welisara, Gampaha, Anuradhapu­ra and Kalutara and customer service centers in Avissawell­a, Vavuniya, Bat t i c a l o a , Ke g a l l e and Kilinochch­i, she added. By operating through these seventeen service points, the Company is planning to expedite its customer centric approach, and offer convenienc­e in transactio­ns for both exist- i ng and new customers The journey which began in 2003 has thus prospered and expanded to service different segments in the society, and as a revitalize­d entity, Orient Finance looks on with confidence to deliver value to all its stakeholde­rs, Mrs Wickremasi­nghe said. As the company approaches the completion of ten years, many activities have been planned to commemorat­e the decade of service excellence in April 2013.
