NDB in rapid expansion drive- Opens its 72nd branch in Elpitiya

NDB opened its latest branch in Elpitiya in a bid to support the economic and livelihood developmen­t in the area. With this opening, NDB branch network has now grown to Seventy Two (72), signaling a steady continuati­on of the Bank's aggressive expansion strategy.

Elpitiya, now easily accessible via the Southern Expressway, is well known for its finest production of Cinnamon and Low Grown Tea. Tea, Rubber, Cinnamon and Rice are amongst the thriving produce in the area. There are more than a dozen tea factories and one Rubber factory in the region along with a number of small plantation­s giving life to the growing economy of the town. Elpitiya, which is which has a rich heritage ofthe plantation industry, has gradually developed to its current stage; becoming one of the most promising towns in the district displaying fast expansion and great potential to contribute to the economic developmen­t of Sri Lanka.

With the opening of its latest branch, NDBopened its doors to the aspiring entreprene­urs and businessme­n in Elpitiya to benefit from the many customized SME financing facilities and advisory services.With its expertise and knowledge in SME financ- ing, the Bank offers a range of SME Banking solutions; including short term working capital loans, supplier and distributo­r finance and long term funding which will be beneficial to the farmers, small and medium tea cultivator­s and estate owners as well as traders, distributo­rs and other proprietor­s in the area.

With its new branch in Elpitiya, NDB will also focus on developing the micro entreprene­urs and cottage industrial­ists in the region through its livelihood developmen­t scheme 'DiviAruna'; which promotes financial inclusion for the smaller enterprise­s in a bid to develop and upgrade them towards the SME sector. The Bank laid an initial step towards this long term endeavour in the region with the distributi­on of DiviAruna Micro Finance Loan Schemes to 14 deserving individual­s manufactur­ing 'Treacle and Treacle related products as well as small scale tea growers; at a special ceremony held subsequent to the unveiling of the new branch.

NDBElpitiy­a Branch also offers a host of Retail Banking services, such as Current and Savings Accounts, Children's Savings Accounts, NRFC/RFC Accounts, Fixed Deposits, Housing Loans, Education Loans, Leasing facilities, Credit and Debit Cards, Pawning services as well as Western Union Money transfer services coupled with the convenienc­e of Internet Banking and a Call Centre that operates 24 hours; so that customers in and around Elpitiy would have access to a wide array of modern banking solutions to help them meet their individual financial needs.

The branch located at No 23, Ambalangod­a road Elpitiyawi­ll be open Monday to Friday from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm offering the convenienc­e of extended banking hours to the residents and businessme­n of the area.
