Dialog Enterprise to support Sri Lanka golf reach new heights

Last week saw the conclusion of 'Sri Lanka Ports Authority Open 2013,' one of the biggest profession­al golf tournament­s to take place in Sri Lanka. Titled sponsored by Sri Lanka Ports Authority, Dialog Enterprise was the Gold sponsor of the event.

SLPA Open 2013, being the second largest profession­al golf tournament to take place in Sri Lanka, was held at the Royal Colombo Golf Club, seeing a record number of participan­ts with the biggest prize money for a golf tournament in Sri Lanka of US$ 70,000.00. Promoting the sport of golf locally, Dialog Enterprise has taken upon themselves to sponsor two of the top golfers in Sri Lanka,Mithun Perera and K Prabagaran at all local and internatio­nal level golf tournament­s in 2013.

"Profession­al golf is still at a very nascent stage in Sri Lanka although we have profession­al players who can represent the country internatio­nally. Dialog Enterprise strongly believes that our support and commitment will assist these players take Sri Lanka to the next level." said Jeremy Huxtable - Chief Officer, Dialog Enterprise.

Ranked at present as number one in Sri Lanka, Mithun Perera has four profession­al wins since 2011 and is ranked 5th at Profession­al Golf Tour of India (PGTI) and 20th on the Asian Tour. He is also the only Sri Lankan to hold a full card on the Asian Tour (3rd, biggest Profession­al Golf TourTourna­ment body) in the world and the only Sri Lankan to hold multiple wins within a year. K. Prabagaran at present is ranked at number 3 in PGTI. He was also the amateur champion in 2003 and 2009 and All India Amateur Champion in 2007.Prabagaran was placed 2ndduring the Sri Lanka Open tournament in 2010 and 2012.
