Top accolades for CA Sri Lanka’s affiliate university in Australia

One of Australia’s leading universiti­es, the University of Southern Queensland, which has shared a rich history counting over a decade with the Institute of Chartered Accountant­s of Sri Lanka ( CA Sri Lanka), recently received high accolades in the academia field further enhancing its standing in the global university scene.

The prestigiou­s World Education Congress Global Awards recently conferred the ‘ Woman Super Achiever Award’ to the university’s Vice- Chancellor Professor Jan Thomas for her leadership in internatio­nal higher education.

Thomas was selected for the prestigiou­s prize from amongst 4000 nomination­s.

Furthermor­e, the popular MyUniversi­ty website based in Australia ranked the University of Southern Queensland (USQ) as the second best university in Queensland on grounds that the university produced the highest number of students who were able to secure full time work subsequent to their study at USQ.

For over ten year CA Sri Lanka through its Business School has been offering the ever popular Australian MBA Programme of the University of Southern Queensland to Sri Lankan profession­s from both the accounting and nonaccount­ing sectors.

The USQ MBA ranked as one of Australia’s top 20 masters programmes covers an extensive syllabus and offers a range of exemptions for profession­al and other academic qualificat­ion.

CA Sri Lanka President Mr. Sujeewa Rajapakse noted that the USQ MBA is one of the most successful MBA programmes in the country followed by profession­als both at junior and senior levels and has also been followed by well- establishe­d corporate leaders in the country.

“The Institute and the University of Southern Queensland has been working together for well over ten years and we are continuous­ly endeavorin­g to provide profession­als from both the accounting and non- accounting sectors with the best of local and foreign qualificat­ions right here in Sri Lanka,” he noted.

Speaking on the recent achievemen­ts by USQ, Mr. Rajapakse noted that CA Sri Lanka always strived to partner with world recognized institutes and the recent accolades by the Australian University was testament to the university’s standing on a global platform.

Chief Executive Officer of CA Sri Lanka, Mr. Aruna Alwis highlighte­d that the CA Business School is among the foremost leading business schools in the country providing both academic and profession­al qualificat­ions for the benefit of profession­als in the country.

“Both CA Sri Lanka and the University of Southern Queensland share an exceptiona­l associatio­n counting to ten long years.

Today, the USQ MBA offered through the Business School is one of the most popular MBA programmes in the country among profession­als,” he added.

Meanwhile, CA Sri Lanka has currently commenced the intake for the University of Southern Queensland’s MBA programme for the June Semester.
