‘Balloth ekka Behe’ in Borella

‘Epic’ animated fantasy-adventure based on William Joyce’s children’s book ‘The Leaf Men and the Brave Good Bugs’ is now being screened at Savoy cinema, Wellwatta.

A story of a teenager who finds herself f transporte­d to a deep forest setting where a battle attle between the forces of good and those of evil is taking place, the film is directed by ‘Ice Age’ ‘ and nd ‘Robots’ famed director Chris Wedge.

‘Epic’ which stars the voices of Amanda da Seyfried, Colin Farrell, Josh Hutcherson, Christophe­r Waltz, Aziz z Ansari, Chris O’Dowd, Pitbull, Jason Sudeikis, with Steven Tyler and Beyoncé Knowles is written by James V. Hart and William Joyce.

Mary Katherine (M.K), long separated from m her father, Professor Bomba, visits him in his old house near a forest, where ere he lives with his dog, Ozzie. Bomba has long studied the artefacts of what at he believes to be a group of tiny warriors who live in the forest and protect ect it. He often goes into the forest to look for them and has cameras everywhere, re, in the hopes of confirming their existence. He is so involved with his work that hat he neglects M.K., resulting in her leaving and pastasting a goodbye note to one of his monitors. As she is leaving, Ozzie knocks past her and runs ns into the woods. M.K. sets out to look for him. m She comes upon a group of glowing, falling leaves. Catching one of them, she is suddenly shrunken. In her minuscule state, she discovers the group of warriors Bomba has studied, who are known as the Leafmen. Soon she is forced to assist them in a war against forces known as the Boggans and their leader Mandrake, while trying to find out how to return home.

Ravindra Ariyarathn­e’s popular play “Balloth Ekka Behe” will returned to the Namel Malani Punchi theatre, Borella on June 1.

Starring Wijaya Nandasiri, Kumara Thirimadur­a, Roshan Pilapitiya, Gihan Fernando, and Anusha Dissanayak­a , music is composed by Shantha Peiris while Llewellin Vanderwall did background creations and stage management is by Ashoka De Soyza and Shantha Udayakumar­a

Production is by Asle J. Lanka Computer Training Institute and Jude Srimal is the main organizer of the drama. All Seats have been Box planned and tickets are available at Borella Namel Malani Punchi theatre.
