- - NA

Blue Star toppled Navy Sports in Group ‘A’ and Solid Sports Club continues to maintain their leadership in Group ‘B’ as the Dialog Champions League 2013 completed its tenth week. Blue Star’s narrow 1-0 win against giant killers Matara City was enough for them to regain the top spot of the group.

Navy SC, who didn’t play a game last week, swapped places with Blue Star to number two but thing are likely to change in the coming weeks. The battle however will be between the top two teams from Group ‘A’, who will undoubtedly fight fiercely to claim leadership of the group. At third place is Colombo Football Club who remain there for the second successive week after drawing against Saunders, who remain at the fourth spot. Java Lane, Matara City, Ratnam, Air Force, Negombo Youth and Super Sun follow one after the other at the bottom of the table, unchanged from their respective positions from last week.

Besides Matara City from the bottom half of the group, Negombo Youth and Super Sun played against each other in Beruwela last Sunday. The clash between the two winless sides ended with a 1-0 win in favour of Negombo Youth, who recorded their first win of the season after seven games.

From Group ‘B’ only one match was played for the whole of last week which was between Renown and Nandimithra at the City Football Complex. Nandimithra managed to snatch a thrilling 1-0 win thus resulting in them advancing two places from last week to fourth position. As a result, losers Renown moved down a place to sixth. The change of places of the two teams also forced Don Bosco, who was at fourth place to move down to fifth while other teams remain at their respective places as of last week. Table leaders Solid SC are followed by Army SC and Upcountry Lions respectively down to the third position while from the bottom half Pelicans, New Youngs, Police and Kalutara Park are placed one after another from seventh to the last position.
