"Access Solar" continues to redefine economical energy generation

-

With the recent hike in electricity tariffs, there has been a heightened focus on cost-effective alternate methods of energy generation. A solution for this problem comes from Access Solar ( Pvt) Ltd, the pioneers in providing solar solutions in Sri Lanka. Access Solar has now innovated a solution that 'pays for itself', the perfect answerto the question of energy for both households and businesses alike.

With over 10 years of experience in the solar energy industry, Access Solar boasts over 5 megawatt of solar installations in Sri Lanka and across the globe. The company was also the first to install on-grid commercial solar systems in Government and private institutions in the island, and was also the first Sri Lankan company to be awarded a contract for an international commercial solar installation.

As global fuel prices hit record highs within the year, the Government of Sri Lanka pledged its support for alternate power generation methods, through offering special concessions and benefits that encourage consumers towards utilising solar energy. Thus, consumers can now enjoy purchasing solar solutions duty free, without VAT charges, whereas a 100% capital allowance has been granted through the 2013 budget for business entities to integrate solar electrical systems.

Access Solar Net metering solution is unique as any excess power that is generated will be routed back into the national grid, which ensures customers enjoy even more savings. A calculation of savings for a 5 kW system estimated 580 units of electricity saved per month, amounting to approximately Rs. 29,331. A 25 kW system is estimated to save a staggering 2883 units, a financial saving of Rs. 164,747 as per prevailing domestic tariff rates.

"Access Solar utilises cutting-edge technology to collect the maximum sunlight for conversion into electricity, making it a very cost-effective solution" said Angelo De Silva, Director ofAccess Solar.
