-

ASing-Along in aid of Unity Mission Trust with versatile musician Rukshan Perera and featuring the golden voice of Noeline Honter will be held at the Grand Monarch Hotel at Thalawathugoda on July 21 at 7 p.m. All proceeds will be utilised for Unity Camp – 6 to be held in Kilinochchi in October for over 500 young leaders from across Sri Lanka.

The Unity Mission Trust (UMT) which has been in existence since May 2009 is a nonprofit voluntary organisation that is dedicated to fostering unity, integration, reconcilia- tion and healing between the war affected teenagers and young adults in the Wanni district and their peers from the rest of Sri Lanka. This is achieved mainly through leadership development, personal capacity building and self-confidence development oriented residential programmes run by the Trust, together with a series of other unique initiatives that foster peace building and harmony.

The UMT has now impacted the lives of over 3200 young leaders across the nation and has also carried out special programmes for nearly 500 teach- ers, who accompany the students on the Unity Camps. Together with the Asia Foundation; the Trust has also been able to establish more than 100 reference libraries across the Wanni Region.

All funding for UMT is obtained through voluntary contributions received from caring and concerned people and a few corporates.

Join this enjoyable sing-along and “lend your voice” to promote unity, reconciliation and healing amongst the children of Sri Lanka. For more information, see the UMT website – www.unitymission.lk
