Former Peradeniya University Vice Chancellor and first Vice Chancellor of the University of Vocational Technology (UNIVOTEC) Prof Kapila Gunasekara will attend the convocation and deliver the keynote speech, while Prime Minister’s Secretary S. Amarasekara will be the Chief Guest.

The employability of the second batch of graduates from the university was 76%, up to the date of their convocation- second on June 1, 2012. It indicates that the university’s graduates are well received by the industry, for their well rounded leadership and entrepreneurial skills.

The university took its entrepreneurial leap of faith to attain success in becoming a renowned centre of knowledge and expertise, for value addition to the Sri Lankan resource base by 2015. It is fulfilling its mission with continuous progress, which is observable in many ways. Thus it drew the attention of several international universities for its unique model, and becoming a paradigm for the changing higher education system in Sri Lanka.
